The Hunt For Reds In October for 2007 will be held on October 6-7, 2007 at Sand Point Park in Titusville, Florida.
The event for 2007 will benefit the Tanner Twins, Trey and Hunter, who are struggling with a condition known as MPS1. The goal is to raise $10,000.00, and will be used to help the family secure a down payment on a home for the family.
The Hunt For Reds, expected to draw 900+ anglers, will be a spot tournament, with prizes going to the entry with the most spots. The Hunt is well known for it's huge audience appeal, including a terrific raffle, a great collection of prizes, and a fine family atmosphere.
Rockledge residents and family friends Kim Rodriguez and her husband, retired pediatrician Pedro Rogriguez, took on responsibility of helping the family, and have been instrumental in getting fund raising efforts together.
Arthur Allison, director of the event, has had experience in the past with some neighbors who battled this rare condition, and was happy to help out. 'I had friends back in the 80's that we went to church with and they had three out of four kids who were born with this affliction." Said Allison. "If Travis needs help, I want to go that way."
People wishing to contribute to assist Travis Tanner can mail checks to Space Coast Credit Union, P.O. Box 419001, Melbourne, FL. 32941-9001 or stop by any Space Coast Credit Union Branch. Checks should be made payable to Space Coast Credit Union. In the memo box list "Donation for Trey and Hunter Tanner"
